Hunter Doll is an athletic and versatile prospect who has shown strong potential both on the mound and in the outfield. At the Arizona Freshman Fall Classic, Hunter displayed an aggressive approach as a Right-Handed Pitcher, consistently attacking hitters with his fastball. His mound presence is excellent, showing confidence and composure in tough situations. While his fastball has good movement, he would benefit from continued work on velocity and location to become more consistent and effective in commanding the zone. Defensively, Hunter’s high baseball IQ stands out. He has a keen understanding of the game, allowing him to read plays well and make smart decisions. His arm is accurate, and his overall athleticism makes him a strong presence in the outfield. 12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic
Hunter is a 2028 OF/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF East Coast Winter Classic. In the OF he starts on the balls of his feet and shows athletic actions. He works behind the ball and has a high 1-hand catch. Made accurate throws into infield with an arm velocity up to 66mph. This right-handed pitcher has a confident demeanor and works with good tempo. There is no wasted movement in his delivery. He takes proper stride length and ends in a good fielding position. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 64mph with arm side run, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with sharp break, and a changeup with FB arm speed. In 2 innings of work, Hunter punched out 3 batters and didn't allow a run. At the plate he hits from an athletic and even stance with low hands. Hits into a firm front side and is centered at contact. Has a flat barrel path with ability to keep his hands inside the baseball. In live game action he made consistent contact and reached base 3 times. He showed good instincts on the field and plays with good energy. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.
07/06/2023 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (MS)
Hunter is a 2028 OF/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Select Training and Competition in Cape Cod. In the OF he shows athletic actions and gets good reads off the bat. He shows a clean transfer off of his left foot as he creates momentum towards his and had an arm velocity up to 62mph. On the mound he has repeatable delivery and works with good direction down the slope of the mound. Does a good job of controlling the run game and fields his position. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 62mph, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and changeup with some arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. In live game action, Hunter worked 2 innings of 1-hit ball and punched out 4 batters. At the plate he hits from an athletic and square stance with comfortable hands. He shows quick hands and a fast barrel through the hitting zone with natural juice in his swing. In live game action, he had a single and 2 walks. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.
01/13/2023 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (MS)
Hunter continues show shine in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight from backside into a firm. On the mound, ran his FB up to 60 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound.
06/24/2022 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (MS)
Hunter is a young, 2-way player who plays OF and RHP. Defensively, Hunter has athletic actions, he gets in a good ready position, and he plays on the balls of his feet. He gets good reads off the bat, tracks well, and throws with a loose/accurate arm to his cut off man. Continuing to add strength and added reps will only help improve OF skills. On the mound, Hunter has a balanced delivery, on-time hand separation, and good direction toward home. He has a clean arm circle, eyes on target, and a FB touching 58 MPH. Abilities on the mound can get better if Hunter can get more front arm extension and finish with his lower body more. Offensively, Hunter has a square/athletic set-up, an activated load, and a rhythmic swing. He swings on plane, he rotates his lower body, and centers the ball well. Added physical strength and bat speed will result in a spike in offensive skills.
