05/20/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Billings, MT Hunter is a lean, lanky RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76 mph. Breaking ball sits from 59-61 mph with 11/5 shape with gradual break. Changeup sits from 66-67 mph with arm side run and sinking action. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. With 3 years to further develop, Hunter has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
