11/08/2012 - Baseball Factory Training & Competition at Pirate City Hunter is a lanky, athletic OF that will graduate in 2014. Feet are active / aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he gets into a strong fielding position. He needs to work on getting behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target, and improve foot speed to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate, flashing carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. He will benefit by lengthening arm action and building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Jackson shows a solid setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed to and through the ball at contact. He makes consistent contact with power numbers improving as he learns to use his lower half more. At the event, he was 1 for 3 with a 2B and 3 BB as he displays a solid eye at the plate. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. With 2 years to further develop, Hunter has abilities with time and room to improve.
