01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Hunter continues as a top prospect on the diamond. He did show as a catcher for the first time at the event. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his cannon for an arm (88 mph velocity) with impressive pop times of 1.98. Offensively, he continues to shine with pro level hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (88 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel. On the mound, this righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. Fastball showed a range of 86-88 mph and owns the inner half as he works both sides of the plate. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hunter will get looks from the top collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Hunter is an athletic SS/RHP prospect who continued to showcase his skills at the Under Armour All-American Pre-Season Tournament. He makes a clean exchange and works to make accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load on time and takes a level swing. He rotates his core well and makes consistent contact. On the mound, Hunter works inline towards the plate and finishes square to his target. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 84mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 69-73mph with 10-4 break. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
