11/16/2024 - National Showcase - Bronx, NY Hunter is a young and developing catcher and third baseman with a lot of potential. Behind the plate, he presents a solid target and tracks the ball well into his glove, maintaining a good glove angle. His long arm stroke and high three-quarter arm slot allow for strong, accurate throws, with his best pop time recorded at 3.28 seconds. Hunter is quick to his feet on blocks and demonstrates excellent recovery skills during drills, showcasing his agility and quick reflexes. At third base, he displays good range to his glove side, a solid glove angle, and a quick exchange, consistently making accurate throws with a quick release to all bases. At the plate, Hunter starts with a square stride and separates his hands well, swinging with intent and controlling the barrel. His short, efficient barrel path allows him to make solid contact and hit the ball into both gaps. As a 5th grader, Hunter has plenty of time and room to continue his development, and with further growth, he has the potential to be a versatile and impactful player in the years ahead.
