Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Hunter is a coachable 3B/RHP. At 3B, Hunter showed athletic actions with active and smooth footwork, with a +1st step and agile range. He fields the ball square and on time. He gets his hands out front early making clean exchanges with 2-hands. His throws are accurate with a loose arm action and carry. Working on overall speed and agility will help improve his game. At the plate, Hunter sets up square with quiet actions. He shows the ability to hit the ball to the opposite field. He could improve at the plate by being more aggressive. Hunter shows a 3-pitch mix on the mound with a FB, CB, and CH. His actions are simple and gathers well over the rubber. He keeps his stride in line with a controlled landing. Working on throwing across his body will make Hunter's pitches more effective. Overall Hunter has several years to develop, and we look forward to seeing his progress.

02/03/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Mobile, AL Hunter is a strong, solid, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. In the INF, Hunter has efficient footwork, he takes good angles to the ball, and shows a clean exchange. He gains some ground and throws with consistency from multiple arm slots to his target. On the mound, Hunter has a balanced delivery, a loose arm circle, and a controlled landing toward home plate. Offensively, Hunter is a strong/aggressive hitter. He has an athletic set-up, loads well, and flashes fast bat speed. He works the ball gap to gap and uses his lower body. Overall skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
