02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) Hunter is a 2022 SS. Large frame with an already filling out build showing strength in the lower half and athleticism. Primary Shortstop, good instincts who makes the routine plays. Gathered it out front with confidence and then shuffled into transfers. Strong and accurate arm, and we've seen him up to 84 mph across the diamond. As he improves creating angles and working downhill, Hunter projects well at shortstop. Right-handed hitter, starting from an open stance with high hand set. Simple load with a strong barrel at contact. Has strength in the hands and power pull side. We've continued to see him make big strides over the past six months. With continued growth and development, we foresee him playing at the next level.

11/04/2020 - Texas Fall Classic Hunter continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.48 runner. At SS, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and works through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 2 for 6 with a double. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball showed arrange of 75-77 mph. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

09/30/2020 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Hunter has everything you want in a ballplayer; athleticism, high aptitude and the willingness to be a team player. During game play, Hunter went 2 for 8 against excellent pitching. During athletic testing, he hit 80mph arm strength and 8'4" in his broad jump which are only going to continue to trend upward due to his DNA. We look forward to seeing Hunter again in November at the Texas Fall Classic.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Every time we see Hunter, he gets a little bit better. This time, he had the chance to show what he could do on the mound and he punched out 4 hitters over his 2 innings of work displaying late life on his fastball. Defensively, we know what we are going to get with Hunter up the middle; a reliable glove and a play-maker. Offensively, he showed a new exit velocity high off of the tee coming in at 82mph. His workouts and his surfing have really built up his lower-half strength and it shows when he gets into the baseball. We look forward to continue tracking his progress over the coming 18 months.

01/26/2020 - College PREP - San Diego, CA Hunter continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he displays clean actions. Feet are active as he attack balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic, tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 73 mph. Fastball showed a range of 71-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/11/2018 - College PREP - Wildomar (Los Angeles), CA Hunter is a talented SS/RHP prospect who has a versatile skill set. Offensively, Hunter has a square, athletic stance with a centered balance and firm front side. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and short stride. Hunter shows fast bat speed with a long swing path. He consistently lands the barrel to the baseball producing hard contact. Hunter is a line drive type hitter and his ball carries with backspin. At SS, Hunter plays with effective footwork and makes the routine plays. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a square, athletic position. Hunter plays through the baseball with momentum towards his target. He has a long arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. His throws are consistent with online carry across the diamond. On the mound, Hunter shows athleticism and body control throughout his mechanics. He has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. Hunter extends through his release staying square to home plate with the proper stride length. He rotates with his core towards his target as he finishes. Hunter commands his fastball with run movement. He also locates his curveball with medium break. Overall, Hunter is a well-rounded prospect who has a bright future on the diamond.

07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Hunter is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect. At SS, Hunter is on time with his prep step and presents a low/early glove. He fields the ball in an athletic position and has a clean exchange. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Hunter starts in a tall stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and hits off a firm front side. He needs to continue to keep a quiet head and attack the inside part of the ball. On the bump, Hunter gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and extends thru his delivery. He works downhill, but needs to continue to develop a secondary pitch, such as a changeup, to work off the fastball. Hunter will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/28/2018 - Interactive Video Program - San Diego, CA Hunter is a thin, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Hunter has active feet, he fields athletically, and gets good glove extension to the ball. He fields in rhythm, works the double play well, and throws with consistency to his target. On the mound, Hunter stands over the rubber well, he works on a downhill plane, and finishes in a complete position. At the plate, Hunter has a tall set-up, a short stride, and good bat speed. He has nice bat whip, can spray to all fields, and uses his lower body. Hunter can get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
