07/11/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Team One South Stovall showed major improvements in his baseball abilities and now shows as a solid draft type player in 2015. Foot speed has improved the most as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a tremendous runner at 6.56. At the plate is also he has improved the most, now displaying superior hitting / power abilities through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating outstanding bat speed through a short / direct path. He works to stay inside the baseball, utilizing all fields and makes consistent hard contact, showing plus barrel accuracy. At the event, he was 1 for 3with BB as he has a good eye and displays a patient approach. Once on base, he gets around the bases quickly and gets down the line. At SS, he utilizes his quick feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth / clean actions with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process. Arm strength has really improved as he topped out at 87 mph with life, accuracy, and on line carry through a loose arm action as he gets rid of the baseball quickly.

01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament This highly touted catcher is an exciting player to watch. An athlete on the field who has a cannon for an arm. Behind the dish, his actions are simple and quiet. He shows good flexion and moves well around the ball. On throws down to 2B; the ball jumps out of his hand with carry, cracking the middle-infielders mitt at 1.80. Runner's will have to great an outstanding jump to even have a chance to steal a base. Offensively, Hunter goes to the plate to swing. He waits for his pitch and delivers the barrel with plus bat speed, taking a hack. He makes hard contact and crushes the ball. Once on base - he's a threat to steal bases with his 6.78 foot-speed. Hunter plays the game hard every time he steps foot on the diamond. A skilled prospect - he will be one to keep an eye on.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
