04/29/2018 - College PREP - Charlottesville, VA Hunter is a solid, athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.06. In the OF, he displays solid defensive abilities and utilizes his quick feet well in his lateral movement as he displays range. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Reads are excellent as he takes proper first steps, displaying big play potential in the OF. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Hunter has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
