04/15/2012 - College PREP - North Richland Hills (DFW), TX Hunter is a solid, athletic SS who will graduate in 2013. Defensively, Hunter has firm hands, quick feet, and he fields in an athletic position. He takes good angles to the ball, his exchange is quick and clean, and he throws with a short / loose arm with average strength to his target. Looser actions and playing lower to the ground will help defensive abilities improve. At the plate, Hunter has a crouched / open stance, a proper load, and a short / square stride. He has fast bat speed, he makes hard / consistent contact, and he uses his lower 1/2 well. If Hunter can let the ball travel more, and keeps his back elbow higher, hitting numbers can rise.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
