11/13/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Pittsburgh, PA Ian is a SS/OF prospect who will graduate in 2026. At SS, he shows quick footwork helping him stay agile. He fields from an athletic position and his exchanges are clean. Ian has a short arm stroke in back and he releases from a 3/4 arm slot. He made consistent throws across diamond, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 76mph. In the OF, he showed athletic actions, with fluid feet, and has good body control at the baseball. He works behind and through the baseball and made accurate throws into infield. At the plate, he starts in a tall stance and gets knob to C. Has smooth timing to swing and hits into a firm frontside. A direct barrel path enables him to hit balls hard to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 80mph. Ian is a good player with 3 1/2 years to continue his development.

04/03/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Russellton, PA Ian is a SS/OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. At SS, Ian shows quick footwork and creates good angles. He gets into a square position and fields with a firm glove. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. In the OF, Ian shows efficient footwork and moves well to his glove side. He gets into an athletic position and fields with a firm glove. His exchange is clean and he works to make accurate throws to his target. Long tossing can help Ian build up his arm strength. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and shows smooth rhythm. He works through a level swing and hits against a strong front side, spraying the ball to all fields. Ian can barrel up more baseballs by maintaining center balance throughout his swing. Overall, Ian is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

02/21/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Pittsburgh, PA Ian is a SS who will graduate in 2026. A young/developing player with some strength to the build and room to develop. In the infield, he works to center the baseball and makes the routine play. Showed ability to pick out hops to his glove side with a 1-hand field in the alley. He throws from a low 3/4 arm with an arm velocity up to 71mph. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance. A simple swing with an all fields approach. He made consistent contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 73mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Ian having a bright future at the high school level and beyond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
