05/24/2020 - All-In Membership - Daytona Beach, FL Ian is a strong 2B prospect who will graduate in 2022. In the field, Ian shows active footwork and flashes good lateral range. He fields the ball out in front of his body with soft hands and makes a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Getting into a more square fielding position can help Ian improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Ian can improve as a hitter by continuing to add strength. Overall, Ian is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
