Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • Position Projection

11/22/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Montgomery, AL Isaiah continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. In the OF, feet are active but needs to work behind balls more and play through with his body. Glove action is firm but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 56 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Isaiah continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, Fastball showed a range of 52-53 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with early break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

11/17/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Montgomery, AL Isaiah is a tall, 2-way player who plays SS and LHP. On the mound, Isaiah has good balance over the rubber and he lands with good direction toward home. He has good movement on his pitches and competes in the zone. At SS, Isaiah fields aggressively, he has agile range, and he keeps the ball in front of his body. He plays through and throws with some accuracy to his target. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
