10/24/2012 - Arizona Freshman/Sophmore Fall Classic In the Arizona Soph/Fr Fall Classic, Jace Landmark performed particularly well in the outfield. Defensively, he has an accurate/strong arm with true 4-seam rotation with good use of his lower half. His hands are sure and he plays behind and through balls. Getting more reads off the bat will help his first step and jumps, while following his throws will add to his carry on his throws in the future. On the mound, the lefty threw two pitches for strikes with his fastball hitting 77 MPH. His curve-ball had okay rotation with 1/7 action. He has a loose arm, but his elbow drops when it gets behind his body. When this occurs his arm is slightly late causing added strain and decrease in accuracy. Offensively, he has good life in his hands, utilizes his lower half and shows good pull side pop. Keeping his front side closed and using the entire field will help Jace hit safely and with more power. Overall, the athletic/big/strong lower half L/L two-way player has an ability to play either position and hit and hit with some power.
