03/26/2023 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Jace is a 3B/RHP in the 2025 class. Has an excellent frame at 6'4" with room to grow. He recently impressed scouts with his actions and they feel he has a big future on the diamond. In the field, he shows athleticism and feel for the game. He creates positive attack angles and squares his body to the baseball. Arm plays at 87 across the diamond and working to keep his feet under his body will assist with consistent accuracy. On the mound, he operates with a 3 pitch mix from a ¾ arm slot. His FB touched 79 and his CB ranged 64-67 with 9-3 spin. His CH sat 64-67 with tailing actions. Working to stay directional to his target will help improve his strike to ball ratio. At the plate, he begins in an open stance and gets into his back side. Timing is smooth and his path is direct. Hands are fast (88 exit velo) and shows pull side production. Overall, Jace has next level tools and scouts are eager to see where his game takes him.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
