07/12/2021 - All-In Membership - San Bernardino, CA Jace is a C/2B prospect who will graduate in 2023. Jace continues to improve in all facets of his game. Medium frame, well-proportioned, athletic build with strength present. Primary C, who has efficient feet and gains ground to second base with good direction. Creates good blocking angles with a soft chest. Quiet actions with ability to beat ball to spot and presents nice target for pitchers to throw to. Clean transfers, with a short arm action into a 3/4 release point, who creates momentum on his throws. Accurate/on-line throws to second and an arm velocity that was up 76mph with a best pop time of 2.2 seconds. At 2B, efficient feet and a good pre-pitch routine enable him to move well laterally. Low fielding position, with good back hand footwork, and a good glove angle. Showed good touch on his DP feeds and DP pivots. A right-handed hitter, hits from an athletic and open stance. Quiet/smooth actions enable to track pitches well. Good lower half rotation as he gets back side turned to ball. Made consistent contact to the pull side with a bat exit velocity of 77mph. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field

12/11/2020 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Jace continues to shine on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed 2.30 range with on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

01/26/2020 - College PREP - San Diego, CA Jace continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.39 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a crouched setup. Hands are loose and work to and through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

01/27/2019 - Interactive Video Program - San Diego, CA Jace is a thin catcher with good skills. Behind the plate, Jace has quick feet, athletic actions, and he sits in low and squarely. He presents his glove well, tracks to his glove, and keeps the ball in front when blocking. Jace has a clean exchange and throws with a short arm action with momentum and direction to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 2.4 seconds. Offensively, Jace has an athletic set-up, good balance, and a rhythmic swing. He tracks the ball well, makes consistent contact, and he can spray to all fields. Jace can continue to improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
