10/05/2022 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic (2025) Jack is a catcher in the 2025 class. Behind the plate, he has effective feet and his stance is athletic. He presents a solid target and his glove is soft. His exchanges are clean and uses quick arm action to create his release. His feeds are accurate and has solid ball flight to the target. At the plate, he begins in an athletic stance and is square to the plate. He has a short stride and swifts his weigh back in his load. Stays inside his feet from load to swing and hits off a firm front side. His path is on-plane and he generates line drive contact. Has the make-up to play at the next level by showing he is a team player, has strong work ethic and is coachable. Overall, Jack is an above average player with a high ceiling.

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy- Session 1 (HS) Jack continues to shine with his baseball abilities. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with firm glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.22 with accuracy / carry (82 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. At the plate, he shows an open setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and has great knowledge of the game. He works hard on the field with a lot of energy.

02/06/2022 - All-In Membership - Sugar Land (Houston), TX Jack is a C/2B prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame athletic build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Behind the dish, has an easy sit, with flexible hips, and has quiet actions. Works around the baseball and gains ground towards second base with good direction. He works thumb under baseball and keeps balls in strike zone. Creates good blocking angles and gets his chest over ball. Throws from a 3/4 release point with good carry on his throws and an arm velocity up to 81mph and a best pop time of 2.1 seconds. In the infield, he works from right to left, with efficient feet, and creates good fielding angles. Showed good glove angle, with hands out front, and tracks ball to glove. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and closed stance. Hits into a firm front side, with a small hand load, and tracks ball to barrel. A direct barrel path enables him to hit line drives consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
