02/12/2012 - College PREP - Madison, WI Jack is a young, thin RHP with good abilities for his age. On the mound, Jack has a long / quick arm action, a controlled balance point, and on-time separation. He works in good rhythm, keeps his shoulders level, and he has good direction toward home. Jack's FB has good A/S run, and his off-speed mix in well. Abilities on the mound can improve if Jack can get more extension on his pitches, bend his back, and add arm strength. Offensively, Jack has a square setup, a proper stride, and good balance. He keeps a still head, he makes consistent contact, and he swings a level bat. If Jack can keep his hands high, shorten his stroke, and swing through the ball, offensive numbers can rise.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
