01/30/2022 - All-In Membership - Jackson, MS Jack is a tall, thin catcher who will graduate in 2024. Behind the plate, Jack sits in squarely, footwork is efficient, and he tracks well to his glove. He has quick actions, a clean exchange, and throws with momentum and a quick release to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 2.2 seconds. Defensive abilities can improve if Jack can improve his range, avoid stabbing at the ball, and with added arm strength. At the plate, Jack has a tall/open stance, a short/square stride, and good balance. He swings in good rhythm, makes level/consistent contact, and he uses his lower body well. Solid hitting can further improve with added strength and letting the ball travel deeper.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
