10/04/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Rosemont (Chicago), IL Jack is a projectable/strong (6'1"/180) 2-way player as a RHP/1B. On the mound, this righty maintains good tempo/pace, works tall and repeats his delivery well. He gets good glove side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB tops out at 71 mph with slight arm-side run as he works it to both sides of the plate. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with good action as he maintains quick arm speed. Changeup has good sink and will get GB outs. At 1B - he has active prep and comes to get the GB. He works into a square fielding position and tracks GB's into a soft mitt. He moves well around the 1B bag and adjusts his feet to throws up and down the line. As a hitter, this righty displays a tall/open stance with centered balance and patience tracking pitches into the zone. He jumps on pitches he likes and squares the ball up, looking to drive the middle of the field (exit velocity = 80 mph). Even more power potential is there with more lower 1/2 drive. Only a 2023 grad - Jack has a solid skill-set with upside and time to develop.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
