07/11/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Team One South Jack is a defensively sound catcher that flashed pops in the 1.9-2.1 range. Behind the dish, he sat low with good flexibility and received with quiet, soft hands. He was strong to stick pitches and used his feet quickly and efficiently to throw. He anticipated down to block and popped up quick to recover. Offensively from the left side, he had good balance and got himself into a strong hitting position with activated hands. He was direct with his hands and generated good bat speed and barrel accuracy. Overall - at 5'11/180 lbs Jack is a gifted defender that has an intriguing left handed swing and good athleticism (7.27 sixty) to be an immediate impact player at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
