01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Jack continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, he displays a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.31 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. He shows a solid setup and presents a low target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to get his body down sooner. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through an open setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 66-68 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with sinking action. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound.
