06/02/2013 - College PREP - Santa Barbara, CA Jack is a RHP/ 2B who is tall and lanky. On the mound he demonstrated control of 3 pitches with his fastball sitting at 74-76. He has short quick arm action. His separation is on time and his feet stay in line when throwing. Jack needs a little more glove side pull and would benefit from a consistent arm slot. He should also play more long toss to increase velocity. At 2B, he shows great effort while demonstrating plus range. He has a quick exchange and an accurate arm and looks very natural at this position. He would benefit from having a lower more athletic fielding position and playing through the ball would take some stress off the arm. At the plate, Jack has good rhythm and is very aggressive. He has fast bat speed and makes consistent contact. He has good rotation in his lower half. Jack should spend some time working on having his weight be more out over the plate as he has a tendency to fall back toward his heels. This small change should see his power numbers increase in the future.
