12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Jack continues to impress with his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas tournament. Behind the dish, he sits low in a comfortable stance and presents a solid target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.37 with accuracy / carry (80 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He works hard behind the plate. At the plate, hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/10/2023 - National Showcase - Cleveland, OH Jack is a tremendous C/SS prospect in the 2026 class. Has a solid frame at 5ft 10/152 and room to grow. He shows flexibility at the plate and is a squared target for his pitchers. Has strong glove presentation and can maintain the strike zone. Is quick on his blocks and shows a fast recovery. Uses a short high ¾ slot on his throws (74 velo/2.41 pop) and is on the bag. On the dirt, he has solid pre-pitch movements and proper angles. The ball sticks to his glove and he has positive rhythm to his movements. More suited to the 2B side with a big upside. At the plate, he has strong balance and can hit to all fields. Shows excellent rhythm and his timing is smooth. Barrel is on-plane and the ball jumps at 75 exit velo. Overall, Jack is a top flight player with a bright future in front of him.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
