11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City Jack continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Pirate City event. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. Fastball shows a range of 67-68 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with both his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

07/30/2021 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (MS) Jack is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2025. Tall frame lean build with strength present and plenty of room to develop. In the OF, good reads off bat and efficient footwork enables him to take good routes to balls. Square fielding position as he fields ball out front with ability to make routine plays. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity of 71 mph into infield. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher works with good tempo. Good direction towards plate and ability to throw strikes. Attacks hitters with a FB that was up to 68 mph, and a breaking ball 11/5 shape. In his innings of work, Jack induced lots of weak contact and 1 strikeout. A right-handed hitter, starts with an athletic and tall stance. Quiet head/eyes enable him to track pitches well. Showed good awareness of the strike zone. Jack was a tough out and took competitive at bats in live game action. Simple and balanced swing with ability to hit balls to all fields with a recorded bat exit velocity of 72mph. As he continues to develop and mature, we see him having a bright future on the baseball field.

07/12/2021 - All-In Membership - Missoula, MT Jack is a OF/RHP in the class of 2025. In the outfield, he shows effective footwork and the ability to get reads off the bat. He does a good job staying aggressive downhill when the ball is hit on the ground towards him. At the plate, he shows a quick and compact swing. He does a good job of keeping his hands inside the baseball and shows the ability to pull the ball. He also does a good job of incorporating his lower ½ into the swing. On the mound, he shows decent mechanics. He delivers all pitches from a high ¾ arm slot. His best pitch is his changeup that helps keep hitters off balance. Jack is a good player for his age and has all 4 years of high school to continue his development.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
