09/27/2023 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic (2024) Jack is an athletic 5ft 11/185 RHP in the 2024 class. On the mound, he displays a compact and repeatable delivery. Works with great tempo and looks polished. Has a strong feel for pitching and is highly projectable. Works with an over-the-top release and pounds the zone. His FB sat 83-4 with arm side run. His CB shaped at 11-5 with late break to the outside half. CH is developing and created sink with deception. Overall, Jack has a high ceiling on the mound and will help a college program next fall.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jack is a 2024 RHP out of Wilmette, IL who showcased his talents at the BF Pre-Season All-America Tournament. He continues to progress and grow throughout his events with the Baseball Factory. On the mound, Jack has a repeatable motion and picks up his target early. He does a good job of getting separation and stays square to the plate. Jack has a fastball that tops out at 83mph with some tail. His breaking ball has a consistent 11-5 break that he was consistently able to throw for a strike. His 3rd pitch is his changeup that has good run that he throws with FB arm speed. In the game, Jack threw 3 crisp innings allowing just 1 hit and no runs while also tacking on 7 strikeouts. With a few years left to grow we expect that Jack continues to grow on the baseball field.

09/21/2022 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic (2024) Jack continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities and did so at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic. On the mound, delivery is sound/repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his ¾ arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 84 mph. Fastball shows good cutting action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late, sharp break and shows as an outstanding pitch that will get outs. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

12/20/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Jack is a 2024 3B/RHP prospect out of Wilmette, IL who showcased his skills during the Pirate City Tournament. On the mound, he shows a confident demeanor and has a good idea on the mound. Starts with a simple/small rocker step and shows a quick arm from a 3/4 arm slot. A 3 pitch pitcher who showed good feel for all 3 of his pitches. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 83mph with late life, an 11/5 shaped slider with tight spin, and a changeup that he throws with FB arm speed. In 5 innings of work, he punched out 10 hitters and only allowed 3 hits. In the field, he starts in an athletic position, with a good prep step, and active feet while working through the baseball. Creates good fielding angles while fielding from an athletic/square fielding position. A quick/clean exchange and creates momentum to his target. Throws were accurate with good carry and an arm velocity up to 83mph. At the plate, this right-handed hitter hits from an athletic and open stance with comfortable hands. Controlled swing who gets on-plane early and showed a fast barrel through the hitting zone. He hit line drives consistently with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph during BP. During the games, he had 4 singles and reached on a base on balls. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

10/06/2021 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Jack is RHP/3B is the 2024 class out of Wilmette, IL. Defensively, he displayed the ability to field the ball out front and worked through the ball towards first base which allowed him to get carry on his ball through the bag. Offensively, he utilizes a simple set up with a controlled stride to make consistent contact and hit line drives to all fields. On the bump, Jack really showed his pitchability by being able to throw multiple pitches for strikes. His FB had good tail and the change up was a deceptive pitch for him. Jack could benefit from implementing a long toss/strength program to really take his game to the next level. Overall, this coachable hard working athlete is steadily improving and with some fine tuning we are excited to see what the future holds.

09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Jack continues to show shine at the All Region baseball tournament. At 3B, as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-78 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) Jack is a coachable RHP/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. On the mound, Jack gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Jack operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph. Breaking ball sits from 61-64mph with 11-5 break. In the field, Jack makes the routine plays and works to make accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets into a small load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a smooth swing and produces strong line drives. With three more years to develop, Jack has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Jack is a RHP/3B prospect who showcased his skills during the All-State Tournament. On the mound, Jack gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Jack operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 62-64mph with late 11-5 break. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He gets back into his load and takes an aggressive hack, producing solid contact. In the field, Jack creates good angles and tracks the ball into his glove. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws across the diamond. Overall, Jack is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jack is a versatile, well balanced 2024 two way player. Defensively he works well at 3B with active feet and a low fielding position. Uses his momentum well to cover the 5 hole well and transfers cleanly to deliver sharp throws across the diamond accurately. What we like about Jack is his ability to jump on the mound, throw strikes and command his 3 pitch arsenal. Fastball tails a bit, sat 72-76mph and can put it wherever he wants. Off speed was deceptive and well developed. Mixes in a 60-62mph CB with 11-5 break and has the confidence to throw it in all counts and a sinking Changeup (62mph) that deceives hitters and is hard to square up. At the plate, Jack flashed some pull side pop (81 mph exit velo), a balanced approach and the ability to drive the ball up the box and where it's pitched. A jack of all trades type of player (former catcher) who can provide value for a lot of ball clubs.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Jack is a talented RHP/3B that will graduate in 2024. On the bump Jack shows a FB/CB combo with the FB clocking in at 72-73 MPH and the CB at 60-61 MPH with 10-4 action. Jack starts his windup at 45 degrees with a fast windup. He works hard to get downhill and deliver his pitches. He keeps good pace on the mound and finds a way to compete with every batter. Developing a changeup will add to his pitchability. At 3B, he shows an athletic fielding position and presents a confident glove as he fields the ball. Jack shows the ability to throw from multiple arm slots and delivers the ball accurately to the target. Hitting, Jack sets up in an open stance taking a small stride to start his swing. He works hard to deliver the barrel on time rotating his core well to develop power. He shows the most pop to the pull side. Jack shows the potential to be a solid player as he continues to grow and develop on the mound and in the field.

12/11/2020 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Jack continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate, he shows a squared, athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 73-75 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with sharp break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

10/14/2020 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Jack is a coachable RHP/C prospect who showcased his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. On the mound, Jack gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm, keeping his pitches around the zone. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph. Breaking ball sits from 58-59mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 57-58mph with cutting action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Extending through his release more can help Jack improve his pitch command and velocity. Behind the plate, Jack tracks the ball into his glove and works to block dirt balls. Jack can improve his overall catching skills by sitting in a more athletic stance. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a soft stride. He is smooth to load and remains controlled throughout his swing, producing solid line drives. Driving his lower half more can help Jack generate more pop off the barrel. With four more years to develop, Jack has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

09/20/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Schaumburg (Chicago), IL Jack continues to shine on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, he shows a squared setup with a clean mitt but needs to present an earlier target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times have improved as he threw his time to date at 2.38 with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 69-70 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. Slider is slightly hard and resembles curveball. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Jack continues to work hard and progress on the diamond. On the mound, this righty throws a FB & CB from an over-the-top arm slot. He works tall, has smooth separation and fires from a quick arm action. He attacks the zone and challenges hitters to swing the bat. FB tops out at 74 mph as he works it in and out. Breaking ball has 12/6 shape with some depth. Behind the plate, he sits in well and presents a low target. He has athletic / quick twitch actions and works laterally around pitches in the dirt. Pop times remain in the 2.3's coming from a quick/clean transfer. As a hitter, this righty displays an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to load. He steps into the box looking to swing the bat. Quick hands whip the barrel with + speed as he connects and drives the ball with pop from gap-to-gap. Wilson is a talented 2024 grad who has upside.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Jack continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.44 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Fastball showed a range of 66-72 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a team player, coachable, and plays the game hard.

10/13/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - Romeoville (Chicago), IL Jack is a RHP/C prospect who will graduate in 2024. On the mound, Jack gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Jack shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 58-59mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 65-66mph as he throws with natural arm speed. In the field, Jack shows efficient footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and makes consistently on-line throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, driving the ball to his pull side. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
