04/07/2024 - National Showcase - Charlottesville, VA Jackson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He did show a 2B for the first time at the event. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.47 with accuracy on his throws. Time will continue to drop as he build more arm strength through a long toss program. At 2B, he displays fluid / smooth actions. Feet are active but needs to attack ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach, spraying the balls to all fields. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.
