01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jackson is a 2028 left hand hitting catching prospect that recently showed his skills at the Rookie Pre-Season All-American Tournament. Behind the dish, he gets in an athletic, low receiving position and presents his hands out front for a good target. He has a clean exchange and does a great job of gaining ground on his target with his throws showing consistent accuracy and pop times as low as 2.66 seconds. He stays on-time when blocking balls in the dirt and tucks his chin while centering the baseball. At the plate, he starts in an open stance and keeps his hands in a comfortable position. He has an activated load with a short, squared stride to the pitcher. He maintains fluid, controlled rhythm and does a nice job of working through the baseball with his lower half. He has a simple, repeatable swing and shows off fast bat speed. He makes consistent contact and works the middle of the field. He reached base in 4 of 8 plate appearances doing a nice job of not expanding his zone. Jackson is an exciting prospect that we are looking forward to seeing more of.

11/12/2023 - National Showcase - Lake Zurich (Chicago), IL Jackson is a 2028 that shows a lot of comfort on the diamond. At second base, he displays consistent feel for the pocket of his glove on ground-balls. In addition, his hustle and energy level are evident. Behind the plate, pop times ranged from 2.76-2.96 seconds. He showed soft hands on his receiving of the baseball and he showed proper blocking technique. We recommend a long toss program to help gain more arm strength as he marches closer to high school in 2024. Current arm velocity was 61mph. At the plate, Jackson shines. He manages to stay balanced with a leg kick. He loads his hands on every pitch and delivers the barrel consistently. Swing is quick and direct culminating in line drive after line drive. Jackson is one to watch.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
