At the Arizona Freshman Fall Classic, Jackson showed good command of his fastball, which was clocked at 78 MPH, and he demonstrated poise in his pitching mechanics. His curveball (72 MPH) has potential, and with continued focus on refining his command of secondary pitches, he can develop into a more complete pitcher. Jackson’s ability to control his fastball and work both sides of the plate is a notable strength. Defensively, Jackson has a strong arm in the outfield, allowing him to make accurate throws with ease. He demonstrated solid fundamentals, and with continued development of his range, he can further elevate his defensive game. At the plate, Jackson shows great strike zone knowledge, consistently working counts and understanding what pitches to attack. While he’s more of a pull hitter, he has the ability to drive the ball and is improving his bat speed, will help him generate more power moving forward. In the tournament, Jackson collected an RBI single to left field, added one walk, and showcased his speed with one stolen base. What truly sets Jackson apart is his high baseball IQ. He understands the nuances of the game, makes smart decisions both on the field and on the basepaths, and is always looking for ways to improve.
