10/17/2018 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Jackson is an athletic and talented 2020 Catching prospect that worked hard at the Junior Fall Classic. Behind the dish, Jackson presents a low target and works behind the ball. He has strong hands and has good post pitch presentation. He is a quality blocker and controls the ball with his chest. He has a clean exchange, a quick release, and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing. He works well with pitchers and has an idea about pitch calling. At the plate, Jackson starts in an athletic stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and hits off a firm front side. He barrel's the ball consistently and stays balanced through contact. He has a good approach at the plate and looks to drive the ball gap to gap. Jackson will continue to improve with experience and will be a difference maker at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
