07/18/2024 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (HS) Jackson continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.16 runner. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry across the diamond. At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average through a squared setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. He has strength in his swing with power improving as he utilizes his lower half more half efficiently. At the event, he was 4 for 9. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 83 mph. Fastball shows good cutting action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Jackson has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

12/17/2023 - National Showcase - Tomball (Houston), TX Jackson is a 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2026. Big strong player who showed natural juice in his swing. He hits from a tall and closed stance. Shows good bat to ball skills and has a fast barrel through the hitting zone. During his round of BP, he hit hard line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 85mph. At 3B he moves well laterally with ability to make routine plays. Made on-line throws consistently to first base. On the mound he works exclusively from the stretch. He gets to a good balance point and picks up his target early. Has a quick arm with a fast hand and gets his chest over his front knee. A 4-pitch pitcher who attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 82mph, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball, a 10/4 shaped slider that flashes tight spin, and a changeup with sinking action that he throws with FB arm speed. SL was best pitch during his bullpen session. Jackson has a high baseball IQ with a high ceiling.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
