Official Scouting Report

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Jackson showed well overall during his time in Pirate City. Defensively, footwork is playable and he moves well around the bag. He fields in a low position, out in front of his body, and keeps the ball in front. Jackson has a clean exchange from glove to hand and throws with a short arm action to his target. Offensively, Jackson has power in his stick when he centers the ball properly. He stands in squarely, swings aggressively, and has a good eye for the strike zone.

09/12/2021 - All-In Membership - Frederick, MD Jackson is a tall CIF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid to load and maintains center balance. He works through a level swing with fast bat speed and good extension, producing loud contact to all fields. Driving his lower half more can help Jackson generate even more pop off the barrel. In the field, Jackson makes the routine plays and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Jackson can field ground balls more efficiently by getting into a more athletic fielding position. Overall, Jackson is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/27/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (HS) - HOTEL Jackson is a class of 2023 3B/1B. He shows a large frame and some strength. At the plate, he starts closed and with comfortable hands. Shows a load that helps activate his hands. His lower ½ works efficiently and gets through the baseball. He shows a mature approach with a line drive focus. In the field, he starts on the balls of his feet. Does a good job using his feet to get to the baseball. Presents his glove out front and consistently makes the routine play. Has accurate throws across the diamond. Jackson is a very good, coachable, and hard working kid that has 2 more years to continue to develop before high school ends.

06/28/2021 - All-In Membership - Bowie, MD Jackson is a lean 3B who will graduate in 2022. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases his foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. Jackson has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
