Official Scouting Report

08/09/2010 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Jackson showed very well at Team One Northeast and continues to get better each time we see him. He is a thin SS with quick feet and playable hands. He is light on his feet, he fields from the right, and he plays through the baseball. Jackson gets rid of the ball quickly, follows his throws, and throws accurately to his target. Offensively, Jackson has a compact / rhythmic swing and he centers the ball well on the barrel. He has a short stroke with bat speed and uses the entire field well. Overall, Jackson is a hard working young man who has developed into a complete player at a premium position.

07/11/2010 - Exclusive Filming Shoot - MD 2 Jackson continues to show steady improvement as he improved his 60-time, hitting grade, and power grade while at this workout. At SS, showed athletic actions as he came from the right to field balls. He made it look easy as he kept his feet moving and fielded ball out front with soft hands cleanly. This allowed for a quick exchange with accurate throws that had some life on them. Demonstrated good backhand along with DP feeds and quick turns each time. At the plate, showed an aggressive approach as his quick hands allowed for good bat speed. Kept his hands inside the ball as he hit it to all fields with good lower half explosion. As he found the barrel consistently, he was able to extend thru the ball to develop above-average power.

12/27/2009 - Christmas Camp and Tournament #2 Jackson participated in Pirate City as both a SS and 3B, and showed similar skills as he did in 10/09. Jackson is a young thin player with long limbs. His hands work well and he and a good transfer from glove to hand. His throws across the diamond has come carry on them, and currently he is slightly above average compared to a Varsity player. With normal growth and maturity, Jackson's arm will strengthen and he should develop more body control. Offensively, Jackson has good balance and bat speed for his age. He is a contact hitter who can put backspin on the ball. His power and strength is currently limited, and again should improve with normal growth. If Jackson can rotate his hips better, and work on his load, offensive numbers can further improve.

10/28/2009 - Arizona Fr/So Fall Classic - 2009 Jackson is a young, 2012 graduate that shows as a SS/3B with a athletic, lanky frame with projection as he continues to physically mature. Foot speed is near average as he must get on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. Feet are active and aggressive in coming to get, playing through the baseball with feet / hands. He shows soft, clean, and hands displaying a plus glove action with a solid backhand that he is not afraid to use. Hands and feet work well together in getting rid of the baseball quickly, displaying near above average defensive abilities. Arm strength is solid average showing carry and accuracy on his throws but will benefit by getting on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength with carry on throws. At the plate, Kramer has average abilities and power through a balanced approach. He makes contact as he was 2 for 8 at t event but has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching his full potential with grades improving with instruction and adjustments at the plate. With 3 years to further develop, Jackson has potential to be a solid collegiate player, especially if hitting comes around.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
