10/17/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Reno, NV Jackson is a class of 2025 C/SS prospect. He shows some athletic ability in all parts of testing. In the infield, he showed the ability to get his feet activated through a quality pre-pitch step. Shows some feel for the game and athletic ability with being able to throw from any arm slot. Does a good job on double play feeds. Fields with his glove presented out front before making a clean exchange. Behind the plate, he showed good footwork and the ability to gain ground on his throw downs. Pop times were as low as 2.20. Does a good job creating angles to block. Does a good job receiving in the center of the pocket with his thumb under the ball. At the plate, he shows a good ability to stay inside the baseball and work to all parts of the field. Does a good job staying balanced and using his lower 1/2 throughout the entirety of his swing. Consistently showed the ability to square up the baseball. Showed gap-to-gap approach with some power present. Jackson is a good prospect with many years left to continue to develop before he graduates.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
