07/09/2024 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Jackson is a up and coming catcher in the 2027 class. He recently performed at the Cape Cod Experience and scouts raved about his energy. They felt he could play anywhere on the field and will compete and outwork any player. He worked behind the plate, in the OF and jumped on the mound. Behind the plate, he threw a 2.40 H-2B and was on the bag. Arm action is short from a high 3 qtr. slot. He tracks the baseball well and is a gifted blocker. At the plate, he collected 2 BB’s in 3 plate appearances. He flashed strong athletic ability in the box and engages his lower half well. On the mound, he sat 61-2 with his FB/52-3 with his breaking pitch and 49-50 with his impressive knuckleball. Overall, Jackson is a solid player and great teammate who had a great week on the Cape.

01/15/2024 - All-In National Showcase - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Jackson is a C/2B who will graduate in 2027. Behind the dish he shows efficient footwork and centers the baseball. Has a loud mitt with a high transfer. He gains ground to second base on his throws with an arm velocity up to 66mph and a best pop time of 2.69seconds. At 2B he has a good pre-pitch routine and closes distance on batted ball. He fields from a square fielding position and plays though the ball. Creates momentum on his throws to first base. A right-handed hitter he starts with a tall and square stance. Is centered at contact and keeps his head still. During his round of BP, Jackson sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 66mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way player making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
