12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic (MS) Jackson continues to show improvements with his baseball abilities on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.98. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 59 mph. Fastball showed a range of 55-59 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength and develop off speed pitches will aid in improving stock on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a team player.

06/11/2024 - All-In National Showcase - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Jackson is young/developing C/RHP prospect who will enter high school in 2 years. Behind the dish he shows efficient footwork and is square to pitcher. He replaces his feet on this throws to 2nd base. Shows lateral range on his blocks and tucks his chin. He hits from a crouched and square stance. Gets his hands activated and is centered at contact. A flat barrel path enables him to square up baseballs to all fields. On the mound he shows good mechanics for a young pitcher. He throws a FB that topped out at 56mph, a 10/4 breaking ball, and a developing changeup. Jackson should have a bright future on the baseball field with continued growth and development.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
