12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Jackson is a 2026 2B/RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Recruiting Classic. At 2B, he starts in a athletic position, displays quick footwork accentuated by a positive first step and gets in an athletic fielding position. He throws from multiple arm slots with accuracy. Arm plays with carry across the infield and uses momentum towards his target. At the plate, he has a square stance and comfortable hands. He has an activated load and a good lower 1/2. He does a solid job of staying connected in his hips and hands with a strong core. On the mound, he threw a fastball and curveball. Fastball sat 73-74 mph with good cut. His curveball had some break and continued to get better as the game went on. In his 3 innings of work, he was very effective only allowing one run. He also had a pair of hits (double and triple) with 4 walks and 3 stolen bases in game play. With three high school seasons in front of him, we foresee a bright future for Jackson on the diamond.

01/29/2023 - National Showcase - Fairfield (Sacramento), CA Jackson continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body, gaining ground. Hands are clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 68 mph. Fastball showed a range of 65-68 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving stock on the mound.

Academic All-American Tournament (MS) Jackson is a 2026 2B/RHP prospect. In the field, he does a good job of starting his feet with a prep step. Shows the ability to come downhill and create good angles. Did a good job working beneath the baseball and fielding down to up. Showed a quick release on throws. At the plate, he showed a very advanced line drive approach. Did a good job of keeping consistent timing. Showed good activation of his lower 1/2. Hit a single through the center of the field in game action. On the mound, he showed feel for both his FB and CB. Pitched with mainly his FB in game action. Did a good job of getting ahead in counts and competing throughout the at bat. Delivered all pitched from an over the top arm slot. Gave up no runs in 2 innings of work. Jackson is a talented young prospect that we hope to see again soon.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (MS) Jackson continues to shows a prospect on the diamond. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Jackson increased arm velocity to 55 MPH and showed a spike in hitting numbers during his last workout in Arizona. He is an athletic, SS with good knowledge of the game. Defensively, Jackson has quick/active feet, a presentable glove, and he fields out in front of his body. He gets in a good ready position, makes plays consistently, and throws with an accurate arm with momentum across the diamond. At the plate, Jackson stands in squarely, he swings in good rhythm, and he has fast bat speed. He makes level/consistent contact, and has good feel for the barrel. Jackson is a solid player and will continue to improve as he gets bigger and stronger.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Jackson is a coachable SS prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Spring Training in Arizona. In the field, Jackson shows smooth footwork and fields in a low position with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, working to keep them accurate to his target. Increasing his lateral range can help Jackson improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance with his hands held low. He is on time getting into a small load and takes a short swing, making solid contact. Jackson can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half sooner. With seven more years to develop, Jackson has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
