08/08/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Los Angeles, CA Jacob is a tall, lean 3B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 75-78 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents well front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness (7.31 60 time) in covering ground. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. With 3 years to further develop, Jacob has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
