01/15/2010 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2010 Jacob showed well at the UA Preseason All-America and still projects as a 2-way player at the next level. In the OF, Jacob is an athletic player with quick feet. He gets good reads on the baseball and works through it well. Jacob centers the ball well on his body and throws accurately to his target. Better rhythm and presenting his glove sooner will only help abilities improve. On the mound, Jacob's control, delivery, and arm action are all excellent. He is a solid starter with good rhythm, good shoulder angle, and a loose arm action. Jacob keeps hitter off balance and can get all of his pitches over the plate for strikes. He is very projectable on the mound, and with more lower 1/2 explosion and by keeping his front side closed longer, we can expect to see more progress on the hill. Looks like a solid starter on the next level as hitters do not look comfortable facing him. Offensively, Jacob has good balance and bat speed. His swing is in rhythm, he has loose body actions, and shows pull side power. At times swing get a little long, but Jacob shows bat speed and some juice in his bat. A very interesting prospect who warrants close watching from the baseball community.
