07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Jacob is a 2028 3B prospect that showcased his skills at the National World Series. At 3B he gets in an athletic position pre-pitch and shows off active footwork. He gets a good first step and squares himself off to ground balls, doing well to work right to left. His exchange is clean, and he creates momentum to his targets with his throws. He makes accurate throws across diamond with an arm velocity up to 70mph. At the plate he starts in a square and athletic stance with loose hands. He has a simple, activated load with a squared stride and a controlled rhythm. He has a firm frontside with his lower half and an on-plane swing, staying direct to the baseball through contact. He takes aggressive swings, with good plate discipline, and reached base multiple times in live game action. Overall, Jacob is an exciting prospect that we are excited to see more of as he continues to develop.

07/21/2023 - National Showcase - Orange (Los Angeles), CA Jacob is a solid C/3B who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.51 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 5 years to further develop, Jacob has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
