07/18/2024 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (HS) Jacob continues to impress with his baseball abilities at the National World Series. At the plate is where he showed best through a squared setup. He is aggressive at the plate, displaying quick hands through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he improves his lower half efficiently. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and present out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 72-75 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a good team player and works hard to be the best player he can be.

05/19/2024 - All-In National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Jacob is a 2025 RHP/1B. At 1B he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and shows good footwork around the bag. Made accurate throws to all bases from multiple arm slots. On the mound he works with good tempo and works downhill towards his target. Has a clean arm stroke and gets extended out front. A 3-pitch pitcher who works off of his FB that topped out at 74mph. He showed plus command on all of his pitches. At the plate he hits from an athletic and square stance. Shows intent in swing with some pull side power. During his round of BP, Jacob hit balls hard with a bat exit velocity up to 87mph. With another year of development, we foresee this 2-way player making huge strides on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
