Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

04/03/2022 - All-In Membership - Charlottesville, VA Jacob is a solid two-way (OF/P) prospect in the 2026 class. In the field, he is an athlete in his ball pursuit. His feet are active and covers ground. He takes good angles and stays inside the ball well. Has a loose arm and releases from a high ¾ slot. He is accurate to his targets and throw production is on-line. He can work to sink his hips more in his fielding position to adjust to hops and utilize his leg strength in his throws. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix from a high ¾ slot. His FB topped at 62 with more in the tank. His CB sat 50-53 with 10/4 shape and early breaking action. His CH sat 56-58 with run and FB arm speed. Working to stay directional to his targets will prevent falling off and more back hip drive. At the plate, he begins in a squared set-up and loads his body well. Maintains his weight between his feet well and attacks the baseball on-plane. Demonstrates pull side production in the early stages of his career. Overall, Jacob has strong starting points and the future looks bright for this 2026 grad as he progresses in the game.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Jacob is an athletic OF/RHP out of Moseley, Virginia in the class of 2026. While in Florida at the Winter Classic Jacob hustled and made adjustments in addition to being very coachable. Defensively, he displayed active feet with the ability to cover ground and work behind/through the baseball to create momentum for his throws to be online with carry. Offensively, he used a square athletic stance with a small stride and good timing to find balance. He tried to work on plane with the baseball and execute a line drive approach showing glimpses of gap to gap power. Jacob could benefit from programs/drills such as long toss, arm path, strength training, separation hitting drills and flexibility/mobility training. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this 2026 prospect.

09/05/2021 - All-In Membership - Richmond, VA Jacob is an athletic OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2026. In the field, Jacob shows active footwork and moves well to his glove side. He fields in a square position and has a clean exchange, creating good carry on his throws. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing and drives the ball to his pull side. On the mound, Jacob gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing square to his target. Jacob operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph with arm side run. Curveball sits from 53-54mph with 10-4 break. Slider sits from 53-54mph with 10-4 break. With five more years to develop, Jacob has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
