12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory Holiday Classic at Pirate City Jacob is a promising 2027 third baseman and right-handed pitcher from Brownsville, PA, who recently honed his abilities at the Baseball Factory Pirate City Holiday Camp. Defensively, Jacob shows good angles to his glove side, using a one-handed fielding technique in the alley and consistently fielding the ball out front. He makes accurate throws from a three-quarter arm slot, displaying strong fundamentals at third base. At the plate, Jacob starts in a balanced stance, using his lower half to turn and keep his weight between his knees, which helps him generate solid contact. In live game action, he reached base on a single and two walks, showcasing his plate discipline. On the mound, Jacob shows excellent deception, hiding the ball well, and maintaining a confident demeanor as he works ahead in the count. In two innings of work, he allowed just one hit, demonstrating his control and effectiveness. With two more years of growth and continued development, Jacob has a bright future ahead both in the field and on the mound.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
