12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic (MS) Jacob is a lean OF/LHP who will graduate in 2030. In the OF, he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve his foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 53-55 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. He throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength and develop off speed pitches will aid in improving stock on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best he can be. With 6 years to further develop, Jacob has potential with time and room to progress his game.

08/30/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Cooperstown, NY Jacob is an exciting prospect for Team Stripes, showcasing impressive skills both as a hitter and a pitcher! His speed combined with his left-handed hitting makes him a dynamic player on the field. On the mound, his tailing fastball sitting at 50-52 mph, along with his balanced delivery and loose arm action, indicates he has a solid foundation. His ability to change looks to the plate and slow down the running game demonstrates a high baseball IQ, which is crucial for keeping opponents off balance. At the plate, his multiple hits and strong bat-to-ball skills highlight his offensive potential. Scouts taking note of his ability to battle with two strikes is a great sign; it shows resilience and a strong approach at the plate. Making pitchers work harder and increasing their pitch count can significantly impact the game. Overall, Jacob's combination of speed, skill, and mental toughness makes him a player to watch as he continues to develop in the sport!

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
