01/29/2023 - National Showcase - Delray Beach, FL Jacob is a talented SS in the 2027 class. In the field, he has great feet and gains ground to the baseball. He takes advanced angles and covers his defensive zone well. He works from the ground up and his exchanges are clean. Arm action is short and he releases from a high ¾ slot. Feeds are accurate and by staying in his legs, he will generate more velo. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance and has a short stride. His rhythm is smooth and he stays inside his feet well. Gets his backside through and his hands are fast. Generates hard contact with his strong barrel feel. Shows line drive production to all fields. Overall, Jacob is a must follow in the 2027 class.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
