07/07/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Jacob is a (2019 grad) 2-way player as a RHP/1B. On the bump, this RHP throws his FB & CB from a 3/4 arm slot & clean arm action. He works to a controlled balance point and utilizes frame well to drive downhill toward the dish. FB ranges from 62-66 mph as he fills up the zone with strikes. Breaking ball has 9/3 shape (61-62 mph). At 1B, Jacob works hard to get into a square fielding position behind the GB. He tracks the ball into his mitt and makes the plays with soft hands. Offensively, this RHH shows a square setup with a solid base. He takes an aggressive hack through a level path and drives the ball back up the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
