09/29/2024 - All-In National Showcase - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Jagger is a rising 5th grader who demonstrates impressive skills as both a first baseman and a right-handed pitcher. In the infield, he fields from a square, low position with excellent glove presentation and showcases a quick exchange that allows him to get rid of the ball swiftly. His consistent throws to all bases reflect a strong, quick release. At the plate, he hits from a right-handed stance, starting with a short glide step and maintaining a centered position at contact. He demonstrates great extension through the baseball and has the ability to use all fields, showing aggression by swinging at pitches within his zone. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch, reaching a solid balance point with a clean arm stroke as he rotates to his target. He effectively throws a fastball, a curveball, and a changeup. With plenty of time and room to grow and develop, he has a bright future ahead in baseball.

08/15/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Tennessee, TN Jagger Marcum is a 1B/3B that recently played at the All-Ripken Games. On the mound his fastball was clocked at 61 mph. He showed incredible balance throughout his delivery and he compliments all of that with a very good pick-off move. At the plate he has a closed stands and has a tendency to fly open because of that. If he evens out his stance then that will allow him to stay on the ball as well as have outside plate coverage. With that being said he still made really good contact virtually every at bat and that was highlighted by a single as well as a walk. He just needs to remember to run out every ground ball whether he is happy with the result or not because hustle is a must.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
