07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Jake is a 2029 SS/RHP prospect who recently showcased his skills at the National World Series at the JRTC. At short, he does a good job pre-pitch of getting in a relaxed, athletic position and shows off active, efficient footwork and takes a great first step to the baseball. He gets in a low, athletic fielding position and presents his hands out in front when fielding, really showcasing his impressive glove skills. His exchange is quick and he creates momentum to his target. He makes accurate throws with a short arm action that fits the position. He recorded a raw velo of 69 MPH, greatly improving on his previous marks. At the plate, he starts in a tall, squared stance with high, loose hands and has a simple load with a squared stride to the pitcher. He has a fluid, controlled rhythm in the box and stays centered with his lower half through contact. He attacks the ball out in front and shows off plus barrel control. He has a great eye in the box as well, as he walked four times in 7 plate appearances of game action while also recording one hit to left. On the mound, he throws from a 3/4 arm slot and has good feel for the zone. He does a good job of gathering his balance and getting a relaxed knee lift while also staying on-time with his separation. His arm action is quick and clean and he has a nice, short stroke. He keeps his eyes level on his target and has a controlled landing. He ran his FB up to 65 MPH and did a nice job of throwing his CH with FB arm speed. He struck out 2 in 2 innings of game action and allowed only one hit. Overall, Jake is an exciting prospect that we are excited to watch continue to develop!
