07/27/2010 - College PREP - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Jake is a tall, thin, 2-way player that showed some improvements in his game at his last workout. He lowered his 60 time from 7.18 to 6.91 and increased his radar velocity from 78 to 81 MPH. On the mound, Jake has good direction toward the plate, he repeats his delivery, and he keeps his eyes to his target. He works to his balance point well and keeps the same arm speed with all of his pitches. Mound effectiveness can improve if Jake can add arm strength and physical strength, get more glove side lead, and tap into more lower 1/2. At 3B, Jake presents his glove well, has soft hands, and good range. He has good / quick feet and an accurate throwing arm across the diamond. Offensively, Jake has a good set-up, he is short to the ball, and he centers it well on the barrel. He has a level swing, good barrel accuracy, and he can hit the ball to all fields. Hitting can get better with a more still head, not dropping his hands, and more use of his lower 1/2.
