07/27/2023 - Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Jakob is an athletic OF in the 2025 class. Defensively, he has a relaxed feel and can slow the game down. Footwork is smooth and works behind the baseball. Gains a quick 1st step and creates positive angles inside the baseball. Has an athletic fielding position and fields out in front of his eyes. Can redirect the baseball back to the dirt with clean and loose actions. Has a 3tr arm slot and working to throw the top of the baseball will increase his depth. Can stop the free 90 with his accuracy to the target. At the plate, he has loose hands and a wide stance. Has a controlled stride and creates a compact swing. Proves to be a solid contact hitter with juice to the gaps. Overall, solid 2025 prospect.

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Jakob is a talented OF in the 2025 class. In the field he plays on the balls of his feet and squares his body to the baseball. He fields out in front and has solid glove presentation. His exchanges are clean and creates momentum through the baseball. Has an over-the-top release and generates backspin for carry. Working to improve his footwork efficiency will increase his range and 1st step quickness. At the plate, he competes in the batters box. He worked the count and never gave up an at-bat. Has advanced strike zone awareness and shows the ability to produce line drive action to all parts of the field. Overall, Jakob plays above grade an is a player to watch in the 2025 class.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
